This module series was developed as a standalone web-based overview of research methods combined with a Python coding bootcamp for students majoring in the Biomedical or Behavioral Sciences. Although presented in a video format, each module contains activity prompts that may ask students to pause and discuss a topic, complete a short written activity, or perform a coding exercise. While working through the modules, students will use their newly acquired skills to create an online survey to collect data, then analyze and visualize it using Python.

This is the first module in the series that contains a Python notebook. In order to work on these kinds of coding notebooks, open them first by clicking on the link (such as Module2.ipynb) and then save them in your drive by clicking the 'File' button on the left hand side and choosing 'Save a copy in Drive' option. In order to do this, you will need a google drive account. Once they are in your own drive, you can start working on notebooks. You can always repeat this process to get back to an original notebook. The original notebooks in the links cannot be edited. This way you cannot change them and always have access to the original.
